The New Clue at Green's Mill:

Presiding Ghost, George Green

***

"the last letter of the
Name has been written"

In the days leading up to the Summer Solstice, curious shadows appear in the late twilight.  Recently, the ghost of Henry II, accompanied by the Ghost of George Green, appeared to Joan Flower and Robin Hood.  Henry told of a strange wonder that he knew about, hidden beneath the stones of an old farmhouse in Nottinghamshire, near Green's Mill.

The object looks, he said, like an old copy of the Domesday Book, commissioned by William the Conqueror.  But, he said, this Book is actually infinite, that it contains elaborate histories of the future, the autobiographies of all the British Kings, the gospel of the Heretics, the account of the deaths of Witches, the history of revolution, the interpolations of every book in every language.  But, he said, when you try to pick it up, it turns into the dead body of a beautiful woman.

Perhaps George Green could explain the mathematics of this - but we, of course, are interested in the significance for our Mystery!

Shall we see?  Ah, sleuths, what do you think?
