*Founding Board Member for Electronic Literature Organization, National Organization to promote Electronic Literature.

* NEH Grant/Seminar: "Literature in Transition: The Impact of New Technologies." 1995.

*Co-founder of "Reading Russian Fiction, A Russian-American Literary Community." Founded with Tatiana Venedicktova, Moscow State University. Growing out of conferences and exchanges with scholars in contemporary literature, the project involves U.C. Irvine, Irvine Valley College, and Moscow University. It brings professors and students together by e-mail to exchange work on topics in modern Russian literature. 1997-present.

*President, Academic Senate, Irvine Valley College, 1984-85.

*Irvine Valley College CompuEnglish Program (1983-1989): Established research base, published, conducted training programs at other colleges and schools, obtained grant and equipment funds, launched pilot program, and helped direct ongoing CompuEnglish Program at I.V.C. The program introduced students to computer writing technology as part of Journalism, English, and Business Technology.
