Native peoples of North and South America used pictographs to tell their stories and record history.

Some early Americans lived in bark shelters..


Whole families slept in the same room and gathered around the central fire for warmth in the winter. (This probably looks much like Pao Lien's house, in China, too.)


Basketry was an art, practiced in many cultures.   Each group had distinctive basket styles..

Young men gathered in the sweat lodge
