Lecture XII.b-- The Contemporary Novel

     PREVIEW

    Workshop

Now that you have some good material gathered, you will want to decide on a focus - a way of determining what needs to be in your final Project Research Report and what you will perhaps leave out!  This requires that you settle on a Thesis of sorts.  I invite you to submit your thesis ideas to the Discussion List, and I will comment on them.  It's always useful for members of the class to see the progress of their colleagues!

Remember to keep your format in mind, too!  If you don't have a book that shows you how to do documentation, you can find examples on the web at our Resources Page or you can come to my office during office hours and I will give you one!

    1.  A Title Page (I do not need a fancy or expensive folder.  If you want to protect your title page from dirt, etc., just staple a blank page over the top!)

    2.  The Text.  It is best to use the accepted formatting for academic papers - simply because you don't want to take the time to make your own model.  Margins should be one inch all around.  White paper of regular quality.  Standard type face, either Ariel or Times New Roman. A slugline or header with your name, title of paper, and page number:  Luesebrink/WomenLit/2.  That should do it!

    3.  Your Documentation.  You should probably have a Bibliography page and Endnotes or Works Cited.
